I had originally left Los Angeles and landed in Dallas. I was starting a new chapter of life which ended up simply being a pit stop as the dream came to a quick ending. I had an option. Go back to Los Angeles where I had closed that 7 year chapter or go back East. I let fate decide and I found myself on a plane headed to Philadelphia. No one expected me. Heck I didn't expect me. But it was time for this lady to put her head around life and work through the tough parts.
So now I have a few boxes, tax stuff, license stuff.... Just so much STUFF to take care of. I've been trying to do my part here on the East, but it's apparent that I need to be present. So a few days ago we received word that we are closing the restaurant I work at for a few days.... IN A FEW DAYS lol. So now I'm scrambling to find a reasonable flight, travel arrangements, appointments at the DMV.... and all I really want to do is put on a movie and sleep through it all. The lazy lioness has spoken.
It's not easy when you find yourself having to rely on others to get to the airport and back. Should I take empty suitcases to bring back my valuables and head down to Hollywood Blvd. and pick up 2 new for $10. Ideally I would want to leave in the middle of the night on Saturday and get into town on Sunday, just in time to play Dodgeball but that looks like a lost dream according to Kayak.com. I have five days which means three days to conquer all that is at hand and it's making my eye twitch like a character out of South Park.
When all of my co-workers will be gallivanting through their vacations I will be stuck on a plane for half of the duration and the rest studying to pass my driver's test. How old am I?! But in classic Blondesheep mode I am a planner at heart. There are a handful of people that I refuse to not see during my trip back. So I will use Today's rant to make a checklist of memories I am looking forward to making in my short vacation (in no specific order):
~ Play dodgeball as much as possible
~ Pass my driver's test
~ Sleep the night away on the Santa Monica Beach
~ Be ridiculous Samson
~ Hit the Burgundy room and Loaded with Cutter
~ Laugh with J.Lopez and Barry
~ Check in on Hunter and make sure he is recovering (hang in there buddy!)
~ Stop by my old venue Boulevard3 and see how Becca is doing
~ Pack up my camera, external, tax stuff, writing and whatever else I left behind into whatever sized suitcase I can find

Okay I'm getting carried away. The reality is... I'm sitting here writing when prices are rising. And for what? Why does it have to be so expensive to travel? I wish there was an easier way to go about getting from one coast to the next, yet there is not. Well... Not with the time restraints I have. So in the next 24 hours I will suck it up. Book the trip while cringing and watching my hard earned dollaroos wash into the inter web and disappear. But in my life, I can be fearful of change but when it's all said and done, I'm happy with the outcome. Really, I'm just being a big baby about it all when I should be excited.
This trip will be my pre-birthday gift to myself and step closer to getting STUFF done! So to you reader, don't be a scardy-cat like me. Choose a destination and make it happen. Plan out what's important on your to-do list and try to hit as many of those things as you can. If you don't get to them all, there will always be a next time.
Cheers and Flipped Cups,
Blondesheep
