Hello and welcome back to another edition of my rant thoughts, encounters and rambles. Last night there was a Cowboys game. Please don't hold my allegiance of football against me ;) So I happen to run through several superstitions proceeding and during a game. Last night I happened to log on to FB and so Superstition #2 I knew about the game. Now was I to proceed to #2 Knowing about the game and add Superstition #3: See the game? Well I already knew about the game, so why not go out and see part of the game while enjoying some delicious food. My guy and I decided on a local brewery in Lancaster, PA and found ourselves some comfy seats.
We browsed the menus and decided on a few options fit for mini kings and I decided to step outside for a moment. In my stepping outside I met a delightful woman where we shared chatter about her taking a visit to Lancaster from New Jersey and how much she loved the city. I then proceeded to ask if she happened to like Blues music...(I work for the Lancaster Roots and Blues Festival) which led to a most successful and delightful meeting of this woman's daughter.
Tracy Edwards from the Sharp Impressions Project is a dedicated and beautiful person.. Her mother brought me in from outside of the restaurant and made it a point for us to meet. Here I am working for a festival bringing in close to 10,000 people in late February and here is Tracy working with a budding company who is trying to bring awareness and help to those in need from suicide/depression & mental issues for individuals and families of through the therapy of music. What a beautiful match.
For those of you who know me personally, this is a subject I hold near and dear. If I have the opportunity to help spread the word for a company that recognizes the power of healing through music for those in need, I absolutely will. If you have a chance to follow them on FB HERE, please do. If you have any questions or suggestions on how to help their new company, please feel free to email HERE! You can always be anonymous and you never know, one helping hand could mean the saving of another.
Suicide is a subject often passed over without discussion. It is uncomfortable and effects not only the person contemplating the action but all of those whom surround them. It can often go undetected and often without explanation. However, if there is anything we can do as friends, family and as a community to help someone in need, I am a true believer that it is within us to try and do so. So for this cause, I am absolutely trying to share the word and if we only help one person, we have helped that beautiful one person.
Cheers friends, and I hope your day is filled with love, laughter and music.
