Guarded hearts keep walls wishing to be broken
Diminished and crumbled until the beating can be heard but once again
Allow the blood to flow freely
Pumping through the limbs
Nourishing the fingertips to once again touch with feeling
Years of torture keep the open mind at bay
Loneliness becomes a way of life
A sick understanding wishing for a cure
A pattern masks relationships
Setting up the potential to fail
Adding another cement brick to an unbroken wall
Isolation creeps in slowly to the routine of life
Darkness falls into pit of unspoken sadness
Will there be a light through the sodden clouds
Will a butterfly ever again flutter through the soul
Who will be the one to enter this circle of life
Can there be such a soldier
Conquering such a daunting task
Curiosity turns to what life could be like
A life without fear
The possibility of happiness and contentment
Could there be such a place in this tainted life for luck
Would this soul be deserving of such a chance
A shot in the blindness of what being loved truly means
One may be blessed to only dream and keep the openness of hope tucked away in the heart guarded by the walls of past misfortunes.
May someday another bring life back into this lifeless body
Even if for just a second
That second would last a lifetime
And peace would again become everlasting in the wheels churning the mind
Someday
May it be so.
And may it be you who brings life to my soul.
